I'm a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and an Advanced Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, with 25+ years of experience providing psychotherapy, and consultation to adult individuals and couples. My private practice offices are located in Naperville at Estuary Center
and in DeKalb at Life Transitions Counseling.
My work is the evolution of my academic study and my passion for women's issues, personal growth, and championing diversity and difference in all of it's beautiful forms! I provide care and support to adult individuals and couples, offering warmth, heartfelt empathy and respect, in addition to an occasional sprinkling of lighthearted humor when appreciated. Love and laughter are good medicine!
I hold a wholistic, psycho-spiritual, cultural and feminist perspective which honors the body, mind, and spirit of each client. My work is informed by a variety of theories and therapeutic approaches including Psychodynamic, Relational Cultural and Developmental theories, as well as Body-Centered Psychotherapy, Energy Psychology, and Clinical Hypnotherapy for trauma resolution (when appropriate).
In my free time, I love to work with dogs, cats and horses. I also enjoy jewelry making, water color painting, collage journaling and other expressive art forms. I'm happiest when I'm in or near a body of water (oceans, lakes, pools) and love traveling with my beloved life partner; my husband. Finally and perhaps most importantly, I'm dedicated to deepening my self awareness and tending my own 'growing edges' in relationships with my husband, my sister-friends, my four legged friends, and also as a participant and participant-leader in women circles.
