Ara works with adults who are facing anxiety, trauma, and/or chronic illness, and are seeking a life free from the limitations these challenges bring.
She also works with persons in the LGBTQ+ community, of which she is a member.
Ara trained in Gestalt Therapy at the Center for Consciousness Studies in Washington, D.C. and has worked with the Internal Family Systems Model since 1998. She received Level 1 Training from the IFS Insititute in 2023. She is also certified as a Co-Active Coach with the Coaches Training Institute.
She teaches a contemplative writing technique which can be used as a spiritual or mindfulness practice in support of the healing process. She is also a visual artist and received her undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Art.
Ara has an M.S. in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from Illinois Institute of Technology. She is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor, working under the supervision of Stacey Hurst at Mind Body Connections since January of 2021.
