Shannon Suffoletto is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and Board-Certified Dance/Movement Therapist (BC-DMT).  Shannon specializes in working with athletes and performing artists to remove mental and emotional barriers in service of strengthening peak performance and reaching their fullest potential. Shannon’s approach centers around the mind/body connection. She employs creative, trauma-informed, neurobiologically based approaches to achieving one's very best version of themselves.  Shannon sees the creativity, beauty and potential in each individual and helps them access it within themselves. She loves to work with clients on setting goals and move toward achieving them as they heal from the past and find balance in the now and the future ahead of them.

 

Shannon holds a BA in Psychology and Dance from Denison University and a master’s degree (MA) in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling from Columbia College Chicago.  She is certified in Laban Movement Analysis and Movement Pattern Analysis.  

 

Shannon works with athletes and performing artists on all levels from professional to youth.  She currently serves as the Certified Mental Performance Consultant for The Chicago Dogs baseball team in Rosemont, IL.  She has more than 15 years of service in higher education as a prevention and wellness specialist, serving Division I athletes.  

 

Shannon is an adjunct faculty member in the College of Education at DePaul University teaching in the area of sport psychology.  She has taught undergraduate and graduate level psychology and dance/movement therapy courses at Columbia College Chicago and is guest faculty at Bejing Normal University in Beijing, China.
