Having a compassionate, nonjudgmental space to reflect and talk things out can lighten your load, help you heal, and energize you about what’s next. I believe that everyone can benefit from the powerful space to reflect that counseling provides. I will help you take time for yourself to heal from a loss, process feelings, address challenging patterns, or move from a “stuck” place into one of more clarity, peace, or happiness.
I am a strengths-based counselor and also draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), solution-focused, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Gottman Method, and mindfulness approaches. Genuine listening and building a positive, connected relationship are most important to me.
In addition to counseling, I teach Social Work Practice in Aurora University’s Master of Social Work (MSW) program, am the author of Joy Fixes for Weary Parents: 101 Quick, Research-Backed Ways to Overcome Stress and Build a Life You Love(New World Library, 2017), and facilitate workshops on joyful parenting, self-care, and couples’ communication and connection.
